College of Computer Science and Mathematics

Under the guidance of the University of Mosul’s administration, the College of Computer Science and Mathematics hosted a delegation from the Nineveh Directorate of Drug Control and Psychotropic Substances to deliver an awareness lecture entitled:

“Drugs: Causes, Effects, and Dangers.” This lecture was part of joint efforts to raise community awareness among students and combat this serious problem.

During the session, the lecturers addressed the main reasons for the spread of drug use among young people, its health, social, and legal consequences, as well as methods of prevention, early detection of signs of drug use, and the relevant authorities that provide support and treatment.

Representatives from the Directorate also emphasized the importance of the combined efforts of families, educational institutions, security agencies, and the media in curbing the spread of this phenomenon and building a healthy and safe environment that protects society from its dangers.
