Master’s thesis of the student: Mahmoud Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed

Discussion of a Master’s Thesis at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics – Department of Statistics and Informatics entitled: Using a Robust Method to Estimate Parameters in Unbalanced Longitudinal Data Models – A Comparative Study –

Continuing the scientific research movement and under the follow-up and attendance of the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, Professor Prof.Dr. Dhuha Basheer Abdullah Albazaz, the thesis was discussed in Hall  at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul, on Thursday, 17/12/2025.

Master’s thesis of the student: Mahmoud Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, supervised by: Assistant Professor Dr. Bashar Abdel Aziz Al-Taleb.

The thesis addressed the use of a robust method on panel data models containing outlier values applied to stock prices in some Arab countries.

The study explored the use of the MM (robust) method to estimate the parameters of longitudinal data regression models. The thesis aimed to employ robust methods in estimating the parameters of longitudinal data to make them more efficient than the conventional estimation methods, especially in the presence of outlier values in the data, through application to economic data.

The discussion committee consisted of:
Professor Dr. Zakaria Yahya Nouri (Chair)
Assistant Professor Dr. Ria Salem Mohamed Ali (Member)
Assistant Dr. Khalida Ahmed Mohammed (Member)

Dr. Bashar Abdul Aziz Majeed (Member and Supervisor)
