Discussion of master’s thesis in the College of Computer Science and Mathematics -Department of (Computer Science ) entitled:
Applying Computer Vision Techniques for Liver Disease Diagnosis
supervised by Dr. Elaf Osama Abdel-Magid
The thesis addressed the application of computer vision and deep learning techniques in diagnosing liver diseases from medical images, through the development of intelligent models capable of classifying different types of liver diseases, detecting them, and localizing pathological regions within medical images with high accuracy.
The study addressed covered the design and development of an integrated system based on deep neural networks, where the U-Net model was used for segmentation of the liver and pathological lesions, while ResNet50 and YOLOv8 were employed for classification and detection of liver disease types. In addition, the performance of the models was evaluated using accuracy, sensitivity, and reliability metrics to compare their effectiveness in medical diagnosis. .
The study aims to build and develop an artificial intelligence system based on deep learning that analyzes medical images of the liver for the purpose of early disease diagnosis using and integrating the ResNet50, U-Net, and YOLOv8 systems. This message achieves the following Sustainable Development Goals:
- Good health and well-being
