Distinguished Student Participation from the College of Computer Science and Mathematics at the IMAN 2025 Conference

 

Baraa Fahmi Ahmed Al-Qazzaz, a first-year student in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at the College of Computer Science and Mathematics, University of Mosul, participated in the 13th International Conference on Islamic Applications in Computer Science and Technology (IMAN 2025), held remotely from December 13-14, 2025. He presented a research paper titled “The Smart Al-Shatibiyyah Encyclopedia.”

The research focused on developing a multimedia smart application that utilizes artificial intelligence, computer vision, and speech recognition technologies to serve the science of Quranic readings. The student contributed to programming the application’s interface using Flutter and connecting it to a backend server using Python, as part of a research team supervised by Professor Dr. Maha Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani Al-Habbar.

The application, published on the Google Play Store under the name “The Smart Al-Shatibiyyah Encyclopedia,” has already garnered over 2,000 users, an achievement that reflects the college’s support for student innovation and applied research with practical impact.
