At the beginning of the new academic year 2024/2025, the Student Activities Division had a distinguished sports presence with the college professors in conducting indoor soccer training in preparation for any participation related to the teaching staff. Note that every Sunday we will have a renewed appointment at 8 pm.

On Wednesday 10/9, the Student Activities Division held a chess tournament for students at the division office. It lasted two and a half hours and ended with student Salman Hassan from the Cyber Security Department, third stage, taking first place. From the same department and stage, student Mahmoud Ammar Mahmoud took second place. Congratulations to them both. There will be a tournament for the game’s distinguished students next Monday 10/14 at the same time and place.

As for the chess championship for female students, student Maryam Talaat from the second stage of the Cyber Security Department attended and participated and competed with her fellow students. It was a distinguished competition for them, and she will participate in the university chess championship for female students, which is scheduled to be held later.

The tournament lasted for about two hours and ended with Abdul Majeed Hamid, a third-year software development student, taking first place, while Mustafa Thamer, a third-year cybersecurity student, took second place. Congratulations to them both. There will be a tournament for those who excel in the game on Monday 10/14 at the same time and place.

 

On Monday 10/14, the Student Activities Division held a table tennis tournament for distinguished students in the division’s sports hall. The tournament lasted for about an hour and a half and ended with student Mitham Yousef from the Statistics Department, fourth year, taking first place, while student Abdul Rahman Walid from the Software Department, third year, took second place. Congratulations to them both for this achievement and outstanding level.

On Monday 10/14, the Student Activities Division held a chess tournament for outstanding students in the division’s sports hall. It lasted for about two hours and ended with student Salman Hassan from the third-year Cyber Security Department taking first place, while student Ibrahim Naktal from the third-year Computer Department took second place. Congratulations to them both for this achievement and outstanding level.

Among the extracurricular activities of the student activities department, the college departments’ indoor football championship was held in the Engineering Department Hall on Sunday 10/13. Five consecutive matches were held in which the Computer Science and Cyber Security departments qualified for the final match, which was held on Tuesday 10/29. The Cyber Security team was able to win the match with a score of 6/1. Despite this result, the performance was wonderful and distinguished by both teams.

 

Among other extracurricular activities of the Student Activities Department, a volleyball championship was held between the college departments at the college stadium near the Deanship on Tuesday, October 15th. Four matches were held, with the Statistics and Cyber Security departments qualifying for the semi-final match, which will be held next Wednesday, November 13th, at ten o’clock in the morning. The winner will face the Software Department at eleven o’clock in the same place. Congratulations to the winning teams for reaching these advanced positions.
