College of Computer Science and Mathematics: Community Initiatives

The College of Computer Science and Mathematics has been actively involved in community service, demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility through various initiatives.

Ramadan Food Basket Initiative

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, a delegation from the college distributed 45 Ramadan food baskets to needy families in the Old City’s right bank. This initiative, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, was made possible by contributions from the college’s faculty and staff.

National Arbor Day and Green University Initiatives

The college actively participated in National Arbor Day on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. In line with directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and recommendations from the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, the college, under the supervision and presence of its Dean, Professor Dr. Duha Bashir Abdullah, along with assistant deans and heads of departments, organized a large-scale tree-planting campaign. A lecture on the importance of afforestation was also delivered.

Furthermore, the college is promoting the concept of “green education” and working towards becoming a “green university” through an initiative encouraging students to plant ten trees each. A tree-planting campaign was also held in the college’s gardens as part of this effort.
