Master’s Thesis in the College of Education for Pure Science, Department Biology…

In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (quality education), a master’s thesis entitled “Teaching Biology Using the CASE Model Enhanced by Planning Organizations to Acquire Concepts and Develop Visual Thinking for Second-Year Intermediate Students” was discussed in the College of Education for Pure Science at the University of Mosul, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Part of the discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Fatehi Ali, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Saadi Saeed, the Head of the Department of Biology, and a number of the department faculty.
This study, presented by the student Maryam Khalil Ibrahim Al-Taie from the Department of Biology, examined the effectiveness of the CASE model enhanced with planning organizations in teaching second-grade middle school students biological concepts and developing their visual thinking. The research sample consisted of (134) male and female second-grade middle school students continuing their studies in middle and secondary schools for displaced persons affiliated with the Education Representation in Duhok Governorate for the 2024/2025 academic year. The students were intentionally selected from Hafal Secondary School for Boys and Dijlah Secondary School for Girls.
The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Wafaa Mahmoud Younis, with Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Fattah Ziadan and Assistant Professor Dr. Ziyad Badr Muhammad as members, and Professor Dr. Abdul-Razzaq Yaseen and Professor Dr. Shifaa Mahdi Saleh as both members and supervisors.
The Dean of the College presented a letter of thanks and appreciation to Assistant Professor Dr. Amal Fattah Ziadan from the College of Basic Education at the University of Mosul for her participation in the student’s discussion.
The thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and her supervisors on this academic achievement.
