Master’s Thesis in the College of Education for Pure Science, Department of Physics…

In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (quality education), a master’s thesis entitled “Improving the Performance of the Photo-detector of a Hybrid CdxPb1-xS/porous Silicon Using the Chemical Spray Dissolution Method” was discussed in the College of Education for Pure Science at the University of Mosul on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Part of the thesis discussion was attended by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Jassim Fatehi Ali, and a number of the department faculty members.
The study, presented by the student Samara Idrees Aziz Kashmula from the Department of Physics, addressed the preparation of a nano-porous silicon layer using the electrochemical-photochemical etching technique. The structural, morphological, chemical, optical, and electrical properties of the nanoporous silicon were studied through X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and optical and electrical properties. The discussion committee was chaired by Assistant Professor Dr. Marwan Hafeedh Younis, with Assistant Professor Dr. Yaser Hussein Muhammad and Lecturer Dr. Ali Abbas Muhammad Saleh as members, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ghazwan Ghazi Ali as both member and supervisor.
The master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and supervisor on this scientific achievement.
