College of Education for Pure Science

In fulfillment of the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), a master’s thesis entitled “On Generalized αii-Open Sets in Regular Topological Spaces” was defended in the College of Education for Pure Science at the University of Mosul on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
Part of the thesis defense was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Jassim Fatehi Ali, the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Azzam Salahuddin Younis, and a number of the department faculty members. The study submitted by the student (Mona Yaseen Abbas Sultan) from the Department of Mathematics dealt with introducing a new type of generalized sums called generalized closed (open) sums of type αii, generalized closed (open) sums of type αi, and generalized closed (open) sums of type αint in regular topological spaces, and studying the relationships between them and a number of other types of sums, such as generalized closed (open) sums, generalized closed (open) sums of type ii, generalized closed (open) sums of type i, generalized closed (open) sums of type α, and generalized semi-closed (open) sums with proofs and examples.
The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Ammar Siddeeq Mahmoud, with Professor Dr. Amer Abdul-Ilah Muhammad and Assistant Professor Dr. Baydaa Suhail Abdullah as members, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sabeeh Wadee Iskandar as both member and supervisor.
The master’s thesis was accepted. Congratulations to the student and supervisor on this scientific achievement.
