College of Education for Humanities

On Wednesday,28 of December, 2022, the Department of Geography at College of Education for Humanities , University of Mosul, discussed a master thesis on (concepts of geography, climate and geomorphology at Akhun al-Safa / a study in geographical thought). Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Hazim Dhannoon Ismail Al-Sabawi, the Dean of the College and a number of College teachers. The thesis was submitted by the student (Raghda Mahmoud Abo Marei) in the Department of Geography as it dealt with the comparision of opinions and ideas that the brathern al-Safa came up with about geographical, natural, climatic and geomorphological concepts with modern geographical concepts .The study dealt with the analysis of those opinions and ideas that are related to natural geographic information, especially with regard to climate science, such as climate elements, climatic weather phenomena, the causes and formation of land surface shapes (geomorphology), as well as, to prove that Arab geographers laid the foundation for these two branches .
The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Asbahia Younes Mohsen and the membership of Prof. Dr. Kamal Abdullah Hassan, Prof. Dr. Lamia Hussein Ali. Under the supervision and membership of Lect. Dr. Heba Salem Yahya
