College of Education for Humanities

On Sunday 8 th of January, 2023, the Depatment of Geography at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Mosul discussed a diploma thesis on (Efficiency of spatial distribution of health centers in Al-Abbassi district). Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Hazim Dhannoon Ismail Al-Sabawi, the Dean of the College and a number of college members.
The thesis submitted by the student (Nooraldeen Mahmoud Hussein Mustafa) in the Department of Geography.It dealt with measuring the efficiency of preparing health centers in the Abbasi district in serving the residents of the district. Besides, the possibility of establishing additional health centers to fill the lack of health services for the residents of the region, according to its geographical area.
The study mentioned that the number of health centers is not sufficient to serve the population of the region and not able to meet the needs of the population of the region. The study aims to know the reality of health in this district by identifying the pattern of spatial distribution of health services as well as the use of geographic information system technology .The discussion committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Sabah Hussein Ali.
