Teaching physics according to David Merrill’s theory in providing fifth grade students with applied scientific skills to solve mathematical problems and developing their serious creativity and cognitive beliefs
On the 29th. Sunday of January, 2023, the Collegeof Educational and Psychological Sciences at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Mosul discussed a doctoral thesis
(Teaching physics according to David Merrill’s theory in providing fifth grade students with applied scientific skills to solve mathematical problems and developing their serious creativity and cognitive beliefs).
Part of it was attended by Prof. Dr. Hazim Dhannoon Ismail Al-Sabawi, the Dean of the College, and a number of college members. The thesis submitted by the student Ali Salem Suleiman Mustafa Al-Suwaidi, in the Department of Educational and Psychological Sciences It dealt with David Merle’s theory as one of the educational theories and its use in teaching physics.
The study aimed to identify the impact of David Merle’s theory on acquiring applied scientific fifth grade students’ mathematical problem-solving skills and developing their serious creativity and cognitive beliefs.
