Aspects of Social Solidarity in Al-Andalus (95-483 AH)

The College of Education for Humanities at the University of Mosul discussed a PhD dissertation titled: “Aspects of Social Solidarity in Al-Andalus (95-483 AH)” on Sunday, January 5, 2025. The session was attended by Prof. Hazem Dhanoon Ismail, Dean of the College, along with several faculty members.

The dissertation, submitted by the student Mohammed Abdulrahman Mohammed Abdullah from the Department of History, explored the aspects of social solidarity in Al-Andalus during the specified period. It clarified the concept of solidarity, highlighted its manifestations and types from an Islamic perspective, and emphasized its importance. The research also examined its forms at the state and individual levels, focusing on the wealthy and prominent figures of Al-Andalus, both men and women, as well as the impacts of implementing this concept on the state and society. The study further analyzed the pioneering role of the Umayyad rulers and the affluent individuals of Al-Andalus in applying this concept, relying on relevant sources and references.
