University of Mosul Hosts the Second International Scientific Conference on Geographical Technologies and Sustainable Development

Under the patronage of Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Wahid Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, President of the University of Mosul, the College of Education for Humanities organized the Second International Scientific Conference on “Geographical Technologies and Sustainable Development” on February 25-26, 2025.

The conference was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Vice President of the University for Scientific Affairs, along with distinguished academics and researchers from Iraq and abroad.

The event aimed to highlight the role of geographical technologies in achieving sustainable development, showcasing the latest research and applications in urban planning and environmental sustainability. Discussions focused on utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing to address environmental and developmental challenges, emphasizing the integration of scientific research with practical applications for sustainable progress.

The conference featured research presentations and discussion panels, fostering knowledge exchange among scholars. The event reflected the University of Mosul’s commitment to advancing scientific research and its role in societal and developmental progress.
