violence against women – its causes – and its effects
Under the consultation of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi. Under the direct interest of the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hazim Dhannoon Ismail Al-Sabawi.
On Tuesday 10 th of January, 2023, the Deanship of the College of Education for Humanities and under the slogan (Sustainable Development Agenda 2030), established a scientific workshop tagged (violence against women – its causes – and its effects at ten o’clock in the morning, in the hall of the Department of Qur’an Sciences and Islamic Education College of Education for Humanities.
The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Education for Humanities, Prof. Dr. Hazim Dhannoon Ismail Al Sabawi, the Head of the Qur’an Sciences Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sariya Abdel Wahhab, number of professors of the College of Education for Humanities, postgraduate students, as well as students of preliminary morning and evening studies.
The workshop included three axes:
The first axis :
Domestic violence and its effects on society presented by Prof. Dr. Rana Ghanem Al-Taie.The second axis:
Social violence and women’s rights in Islam presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Azhar Talal Al-Safawi.The third axis:
Political violence and cyber violence presented by the Lect. Asmaa Khaled Gerges Al-Taie.Proposals:
1- Activating the role of governmental and non-governmental institutions in the process of intervention with issues of violence against women at the social and economic levels (within the first axis). 2- Providing health, legal and social services to women in all areas of their presence (within the second axis)3- Striving to achieve the sustainable development agenda of 2030 through the fifth goal by removing obstacles between gender.(within the third axis)
4- Preventing cyber violence against women and girls by involving female students in all security and cyber training courses.
