About the Department of Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education
The Department of Qur’anic Sciences and Islamic Education was established in 1995/1996 to contribute with the rest of the humanities departments in the college by receiving graduate students from preparatory schools in its biological and applied branches, as well as certified teachers.
Preliminary study: The primary study system in the department is annual, and the duration of the study is four years.
Postgraduate studies: Postgraduate studies (Masters) specializing in Quranic Sciences and Islamic Education were introduced in the year 2006/2007, and postgraduate studies (Masters) specializing in Methods of Teaching Islamic Education were resumed in the year 2020/2021.
The department’s mission includes finding the developing Muslim (student) in the various aspects of mental, spiritual, physical, social and emotional development, who embodies the commands of God Almighty and turns away from His prohibitions to be God’s successor on earth.
The objectives of the department are represented in the preparation of teachers distinguished by the Islamic culture, who undertake to build generations specialized in the necessary sober knowledge, and the infallibility of young people from slipping into extremist principles and ideas that are alien to our cultural heritage, and to highlight the different educational positions through the Qur’anic texts and the honorable Prophet’s Sunnah.
