Training Course

Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Taha Hamad Mukhlif, and with the follow-up of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Professor Dr. Maʿalim Salem Younis, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at the College, the Department of Sharia organized a three-day training course held from Tuesday, 2 December 2025, to Thursday, 4 December 2025.
The course addressed tools and techniques of translation in the age of artificial intelligence, focusing on introducing the most significant recent developments in AI-assisted translation and on how translators can benefit from these tools to enhance both the quality and efficiency of their work.

It covered the following themes:

The concept of artificial intelligence and its role in modern translation.

The most widely used electronic translation tools and language-assistance software, and how they can be applied in daily professional practice.

The differences between human translation and machine translation, and the importance of the translator’s role in reviewing texts and ensuring semantic accuracy.

The skills required of translators in the digital age, and how to keep pace with technological advancements in the field of translation.

Practical applications of artificial intelligence tools in translating general texts, with a comparison between AI-generated outputs and human translation.
