Planting Day at the College of Medicine

The College of Medicine celebrated National Planting Day by organizing a tree-planting campaign and art and educational competitions for its students. With this initiative, the college emphasizes its role in promoting environmental awareness and motivating students to participate in environmental conservation.
As part of the campaign, a number of trees were planted on campus. Faculty, staff, and students participated in the campaign, reflecting their shared commitment to environmental conservation.
In addition, the college organized an art competition for students, inviting them to create paintings related to afforestation and the environment. Prizes were distributed to the winners, encouraging students to express their thoughts and feelings about the importance of environmental conservation.
A quiz competition on plants and the environment was also held, testing the knowledge of staff and students on these topics. This competition was a great opportunity to raise environmental awareness among students and encourage them to learn and explore.
An awareness lecture was given on the importance of agriculture and trees, addressing topics related to the environment and agriculture.
Gifts were also distributed to the winners of the competition, as were prizes for the three outstanding paintings in the art competition. In addition, awareness posters were distributed on the importance of environmental conservation.
The ceremony was attended by  the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Basil SAEED, and the Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Karam Turath Agha who presented awards to the competition winners and participated in the celebration of National Tree Planting Day.
With this initiative, the College of Medicine affirms its commitment to promoting environmental awareness and motivating students to participate in environmental conservation. This campaign reflects the college’s commitment to education, research, and community service.
