*College of Medicine Celebrates National Quran Day in Line with Sustainable Development Goals*

Under the patronage of the President of Mosul University, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Media and Government Communication Division in the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning / Sustainable Development Unit at the University, held the second day of the National Quran Day event on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

The event included a test for memorizing parts of the Quran, with the participation of a number of faculty members and students, reflecting the level of interest in religious and academic values within the university environment. The event also included the distribution of prizes to the winners, amidst a distinguished academic and spiritual atmosphere.

The importance of celebrating National Quran Day in universities lies in the Quran being a fundamental source for building moral and human values, promoting principles of tolerance and moderation, as well as its role in developing intellectual and behavioral awareness among students, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals in preparing a conscious generation, balanced scientifically and spiritually, and capable of serving society with a sense of responsibility and commitment.
