Workshop on “Women’s Role in Leadership” by the Women’s Affairs Committee, College of Medicine
Under the patronage of the President of Mosul University, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim Zubair, and in implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Security, and Peace (Axis 1: Development and Training of Women’s Leadership Capacities) and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 4, 5, 8, 10, and 16), the Women’s Affairs Committee in the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Unit, the Department of Studies and Planning, and the Sustainable Development Unit at the University, organized a workshop titled “Women’s Role in Leadership” on Monday, February 2, 2026, in the Al-Razi Hall.
The workshop was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Banan Burhan Mohammad, Head of the Women’s Affairs Committee, who discussed the reality of women’s participation in decision-making positions, the main challenges they face in reaching leadership positions, and highlighted the leadership qualities and skills that women possess, supported by real statistics and examples of successful women leaders who have had a significant impact on society.
Beneficiaries: Female students and staff of the college (employees and lecturers)
Objectives of the workshop:
– Clarify the reality of women’s participation in leadership positions in work and society based on indicators and statistics.
– Raise awareness of the importance of women’s roles in decision-making positions.
– Introduce the key leadership qualities and skills that women possess.
– Motivate participants to develop their leadership skills and strive for leadership roles.
