Workshop titled “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights and Reducing Plagiarism”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Studies and Planning – Sustainable Development Unit at the University of Mosul, held a workshop titled “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights and Reducing Plagiarism” on Wednesday, 29/4/2026, in Al-Razi Hall.

Lecturers:
Lecturer Dr. Amjad Hazim Abd: “Protecting Intellectual Property Rights and Combating Plagiarism or Scientific Theft”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Umaima Abdul Razzaq Ibrahim: “Intellectual Property and Its Role in the Development of Medicine and Community Health”
Asst. Prof. Dr. Afraa Mohammad Al-Amin: “Intellectual Property Between Reality and Ambition”

This workshop was held to reinforce the concepts of scientific integrity and develop the skills of researchers at the College of Medicine, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals.

This workshop contributes to supporting several Sustainable Development Goals, most notably:
Goal 4 – Quality Education: By improving the quality of education and promoting academic integrity.
Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure: By protecting ideas and encouraging scientific research and creativity.
Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: By spreading a culture of transparency and combating scientific corruption.
Goal 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth: By supporting a scientific environment based on respect and responsibility.
