The Dean of the College of Medicine Attends a Symposium of the College of Archaeology on Drugs and its Effects on Society

Under the slogan: “No to Drugs. Yes to a Better Life”, under the patronage of the President of Mosul University, Prof Dr Qusay K. al-Ahmadi, and in the presence of the Commander of Nineveh Operations and some of the Deans of the Colleges, the College of Archaeology in cooperation with the Institute of Fine Arts for Boys held a scientific seminar entitled “Drugs and their effect on society” on Wednesday, 11 December 2019. The symposium focused on physiological effects, legal penalties, its implications, its forms and the extent of its impact on society as a result of taking these toxins. It also focused on the importance of spreading community`s awareness among youths in order to avoid falling prey to this phenomenon by finding the means and mechanisms that limit it and its major impacts on society. On the part of the College of Medicine, the symposium was attended by Vice- Dean, assistant Prof Dr, Hazim Kh. al-Allaf. The symposium aimed to take knowledge on the drug phenomenon (its causes and effects), the most important groups that fell under its control, focusing on the importance of spreading the necessary awareness among these groups, and keeping them away in order to get a healthy society.
