The Department of Anatomy Holds Its Annual Scientific Symposium

In the presence of the President of University of Mosul Prof Qusay K. al-Ahmadi and under the supervision of the Vice- Dean Assist. Prof Dr Hazim Kh. al- Allaf, some of the members of the University Council, and Vice- Dean for Scientific Affairs Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Zubeer. The Anatomy Department held its annual scientific symposium entitled “Scientific Excerpts in Anatomy and Histology” on Monday, 11th November 2019 at e Scientific and Literary Forum Hall. The Vice -Dean at first welcomed the attendees, stressing the importance of the Department of Anatomy for the College of Medicine as one of the founding departments of the college and hoped that these seminars have a good scientific benefits for both teaching staff and students. Later, Dr. Omar R. Hamdi delivered his speech, where he gave a brief history of the department and the most important activities at the level of primary and higher studies. After that, the first session, chaired by Prof Dr Abdul Jabbar Y. al-Hubaiti, started with one lecture by Dr Marib Hameed entitled “Human Cloning” After a short break, the second scientific session was chaired by Assist. Prof Dr Maysoon M. al-Qazzaz. It consisted of three lectures: the first by Dr Rana M. Raouf, the second by Dr Kawkab Idris and then a lecture by the Dr Ali A. Daoud. Each lecture was followed by questions, interventions and discussions by the audience. Afterthought, the representative of the Arnon Scientific Office (the sponsor of the symposium) delivered an introductory lecture. Among the attendees were a number of heads of departments and rapporteurs of some scientific departments as well as teaching staff of the College of medicine for the universities of Mosul and Nineveh.
