The Department of Medicine Holds the Eighth and Ninth Student’s Seminars for the  Academic Year 2020-2021

In the presence of the Head of the Department of Medicine, Prof. Dr Khalid N. Al-Kheroo, the department held the eighth and ninth seminars for the academic year 2020-2021 on Thursday, December 17th 2020 in the lecture’s hall (Clinical Departments Building). The students Ashraf Nayef, Nour Mahmoud, Hanin Talal, Raghda Raad, and Ahmed Walid presented (eighth) seminar entitled “Upper GIT Bleeding” under the supervision of the department’s instructor, the Assistant Prof Dr Ismail D. Saeed. The seminar aimed to present the most important causes of bleeding in the upper digestive system, methods of treatment and how to deal with them, as they are very emergencies and common occurrences. And the most important modern interventions and the medicines used. After that, and in a related context, another seminar (the ninth) was presented by students Muhammad Mahmoud, Manhal Mahmoud, Iftikhar Hassan, Aseel Sabah, and Nour Hussein entitled “Approach to Patients with Polyneuropathy”, under the supervision of the branch’s instructors, Prof Dr Fakher Yousef. The seminar dealt with educating students about the common causes of neuropathy, methods of diagnosis and treatment, and the most important modern treatments used in the world. After presenting each seminar, the audience were allowed to give opinions, questions and interventions. Holding these student activities are part of the academic requirements for students of the sixth stage. Among the attendees were all the teaching staff of the department in addition to the students of the aforementioned stage (the medicine group exclusively).
