Tree-Planting Campaign at Mosul College of Medicine
Tree-Planting Campaign at Mosul College of Medicine
In implementation of directives from the Prime Minister, Engineer Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, and under the patronage of the University of Mosul, represented by its President, Prof. Dr. Kusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, and supervised by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Basil SAEED, with the attendance of his scientific and administrative assistants, our faculty and staff participated in the university’s tree-planting campaign as part of the Five Million Tree Initiative launched by the Prime Minister.
This campaign represents an important environmental initiative aimed at enhancing air quality and preserving biodiversity. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, contributing to the reduction of air pollution. Additionally, tree-planting campaigns help combat desertification, increase green spaces, positively impact climate, improve soil quality, and provide natural habitats for wildlife.
Beyond environmental benefits, tree-planting enhances urban beauty, creating comfortable spaces for relaxation and recreational activities. Supporting such campaigns is a long-term investment in the planet’s health and quality of life for future generations. This event was held on Thursday, 24 October 2024.
