the Iraqi National Independence/ Tree of Independence

Under the auspices of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, the Women’s Affairs Committee in the College of Medicine, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit at the University Presidency, organized a distinguished event to celebrate the Iraqi National Independence Day on Sunday, October 5, 2025. The event included a ceremony to plant the “Tree of Independence” in the college garden, which was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, along with members of the College Council and a number of faculty members. The event was held in an atmosphere that reflected the spirit of national belonging and promoted environmental and social values within the university community.

Objectives of the Event:
– Celebrate the Iraqi National Independence Day.
– Promote national unity and belonging.
– Enhance environmental awareness through tree planting.
– Support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
– Goal 4: Quality Education
– Goal 5: Gender Equality
– Goal 13: Climate Action
– Goal 15: Life on Land
On this national occasion, we renew our pledge and loyalty to our beloved country, affirming our academic and moral commitment to serving Iraq and advancing its progress and prosperity.
This event reflects the commitment of the College of Medicine to promoting national values and supporting sustainable development.
