Participation of Faculty Members*

The College of Medicine / Department of Pediatrics, in collaboration with the Studies and Planning Department – Sustainable Development Unit, participated in the (Hope) Conference on Rare Diseases, held in Baghdad with the participation of a elite group of doctors from various governorates.

The department was represented at the conference by Prof. Dr. Aws Hazem Al-Nu’man, Head of the Department of Pediatrics, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Farah Samir, where the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of rare genetic diseases were discussed, as well as the most prominent challenges facing doctors and patients in this field.

Assistant Prof. Dr. Farah Samir presented a scientific lecture titled “From Symptoms To Solutions: Gaucher Disease Management In Mosul Through A Real-life Cases And Lesson Learned”, which covered the latest therapeutic developments for Gaucher disease, with the presentation of several treated cases, which received interaction and attention from the attendees.

This participation confirms the College of Medicine’s commitment to actively contributing to supporting scientific research and developing medical services for children, and achieving the following Sustainable Development Goals:
