College of Medicine Holds Distinguished Scientific Workshop on “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Contemporary Medical Perspective”

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof. Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Humam Ghanim Ibraahim, the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the College of Medicine, in cooperation with the Department of Medicine, the Continuing Education Unit, the University Psychological Counseling Division, and the Entrepreneurship Unit at our college, along with the Studies and Planning Department – Sustainable Development Unit at the Presidency of the University of Mosul, held a scientific workshop titled: “Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A Contemporary Medical Perspective.”

The workshop included three scientific lectures delivered by:
Lecturer Dr. Safia Adeeb Al-Jalabi
Dr. Iklhas Mohammad Ali ,
Pharmacist Yousif Ali Abdul Hussein

It was held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, in Al-Razi Hall.

The workshop targeted staff members of the College of Medicine and physicians from the health sector, and covered the following topics:

1- First lecture: ADHD IN CHILDREN: EARLY RECOGNITION AND EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT
(اضطراب تشت الانتباه مع فرط الحركة عند الأطفال: التشخيص المبكر والعلاج الفعّال)
Lecturer: Dr. Iklhas Mohammad Ali (Arab Board of Psychiatry)

2- Second lecture: BEYOND CHILDHOOD: THE CLINICAL REALITY OF ADULT ADHD
(ما بعد الطفولة: الواقع السريري لاضطراب تشت الانتباه مع فرط الحركة لدى البالغين)
Lecturer: Dr. Safia Adeeb Ibrahim Al-Jalabi (Iraqi Board of Psychiatry, Faculty Member at the College of Medicine, University of Mosul)

3- Third lecture: CONCENTIA: A ONCE-DAILY STRATEGY FOR ADHD TREATMENT
(كونسينتيا (Concentia): استراتيجية المرة الواحدة يومياً لعلاج اضطراب تشت الانتباه مع فرط الحركة)
Lecturer: Dr. Yousef Ali (Medical Director, Exeltis)

This workshop is part of the Continuing Medical Education program and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being, Goal 4 – Quality Education, Goal 5 – Gender Equality, Goal 8 – Decent Work and Partnerships, and Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
