The Virtual Annual Scientific Symposium of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Deals with Various Topics in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

The annual symposium of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology discussed “New Horizons in Obstetrics and Gynaecology”

Corona virus and pregnancy, and about the use of modern medicines and technologies in obstetrics and gynaecology on the evening of Sunday 3rd October 2021

The symposium aimed to shed light on the topic of corona virus and pregnancy in women with the latest scientific developments in obstetrics and gynaecology.

It concluded that the physician should be in sustainable contact with the recent developments in the field of medicine to benefit from them after their usefulness was proven and scientific studies were conducted on them. The symposium also recommended the importance of preventive measures against corona disease for people in general and pregnant women in particular.

The symposium consisted of two scientific sessions. The first one was chaired by the Head of the Department, Assistant Prof Dr Raida M. Al-Wazzan.

Two lectures were given: the first one for the department’s rapporteur, the Lecturer Dr Aseel B. Younis entitled “New Approved GnRH Antagonists for Use in Gynaecology”

The second is for the Lecturer Dr. Zahraa N. Fathi entitled “Ozone in Gynecology and Obstetrics”

Then there was a room for questions and interpositions by the attendees on the presented lectures.

The symposium was held virtually under the auspices of the President of University of Mosul, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, and under the supervision and presence of the Dean of the College, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed. It was also attended by some members of the college’s council, many medical teaching staff from the universities of Mosul and Nineveh, some specialized doctors of Nineveh Health Department as well as postgraduate students.
