Two Student Seminars from the Department of Surgery Discuss Chest Injuries and Mesenteric Torsion

In the presence of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed, and the Scientific Vice-Dean, Assistant Prof Dr Humam Gh. Ibrahim, the Department of Surgery held two student seminars.

On Tuesday, 28th December 2021, the seminar entitled “Chest Trauma / Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment” was presented under the supervision of the department rapporteur, Lecturer Dr Muhannad A. Al-Nuaimi. It aimed to educate students about the seriousness of chest injuries with reference to methods of diagnosis and treatment.

In a related context, on Wednesday, 29th December 2021, the other seminar entitled “Malrotation and Volvolus Mesenteric Torsion” was presented under the supervision of Lecturer Dr Bassam Kh. Al-Hajjar. It aims to give the most up-to-date information on the subject and how the condition is diagnosed and then treated in a suitable time.

This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for students of the final stage. Among the attendees were the Head of the Department, Prof Dr Samir I. Al-Saffar as well as all the other teaching staff, and students of the mentioned grade (the surgery group in particular).
