The Second Annual Scientific Symposium of the Annuals of the College of Medicine Mosul Journal Sheds Light on the Latest Developments in order to Upgrade the Annals to Join Scopus Containers

The editorial board of the Annals of the College of Medicine Mosul Journal held its second annual scientific symposium on Wednesday 2nd March 2022.

The symposium discussed the requirements that must be taken in order to join the Scopus containers and how to write and publish the scientific article. The plagiarism programs and the Mandali program for managing and saving resources were also highlighted. The process of registration and the management of the website of the Annals of the College of Medicine Mosul Journal that have been managed by researcher and reviewer were also been discussed.

The symposium aimed to shed light on the latest developments and modern scientific determinants in order to elevate the journal to join international containers (Scopes as a model).

The symposium began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, then a welcome speech and an opening lecture by the editor-in-chief, Prof Dr Imad A. Thanoun. Next, the first scientific session, chaired by Prof Dr Khalid N. Al-Kherro and with the coordination of the Assistant Prof Dr Hazim A. Al-Shahri, began. It included two lectures: the first by Prof Dr Ali A. Muhammad, and the second by the Assistant Prof Dr Mazin M. Al-Sarraf. After a short break, the second scientific session began under the chairmanship of Assistant Prof Dr Rabie M. Al-Dabouni and with the coordination of the Assistant Prof Dr Zaid M. Shandala. It included two lectures: the first was delivered by the Assistant Prof Dr Haitham A. Al-Nouri, and then the conclusion was held with the Assistant Lecturer Firas M Saeed.

The sessions included extensive questions and scientific observations from the audience. On the sidelines of the business, an introductory lecture was given by a representative of Belem Pharmaceutical Company (the supporting body).

The symposium was held under the patronage and attendance of President of University of Mosul, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, and the Administrative Vice-President, Prof Dr Waheed M. Al-Ibrahimi. It was also attended by the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednather Saeed, some members of the councils and teaching staff of the colleges of medicine of Universities of Mosul and Nineveh, a number of specialized doctors from Nineveh Health Department, and a group of postgraduate students.
