Research of the Iraqi Board (Mosul Centre) in Pathology Concludes that Coagulation Criteria Tests are Important for Early Detection of Changes in Clotting Factors to Treat them and Reduce their Risk

The graduation thesis of the Iraqi Board student (Mosul Centre) in Pathology, Maryam M. Tawfiq Hammoudat, discussed the coagulation criteria in multiple myeloma patients on Sunday, 13th March 2022.

The aim of the research is to investigate early changes in coagulation factors associated with patients with multiple myeloma.

It was concluded that coagulation parameters may be affected in patients with multiple myeloma which leads to bleeding or clotting in the blood and an increase in the death rate. Therefore, coagulation criteria examinations are important for early detection of changes in clotting factors and to initiate treatment and reduce their risk.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof Dr Wahda M. Tayeb (chairman), Assistant Prof Dr A. Abu Zaid Issa (member), consultant physician Dr Sadil O. Al-Shabakhoun (member), and Prof Dr Mona A. Kashmoula (member and supervisor).
