The Legal Division in Cooperation with the Women Empowerment Unit Holds a WorkshopUnder the patronage of the President of the University of Mosul, Prof Dr Qusay K. Al-Ahmadi, President of the University of Mosul, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof Dr Basil Mohammednathir Saeed, the Legal Division of the College of Medicine in Mosul, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the University of Mosul, held a workshop entitled (Violence against Women between Reality and Law) Thursday, 3rd November, 2022.In the workshop, the lectures were given by the lecturer and lawyer Shaima’ Hatem, the legal advisor and lawyer Intisar Saber, the Director of the Legal Division, and the Lecturer Dr Safiya al- Chalabi, splcalist in psychiatrist.The workshop aimed to educate women about their societal role, civil and legal rights, and the importance of awareness of the types of violence to which they are exposed. The workshop came out with recommendations for the necessity of activating the law aimed at punishing the violent.The workshop was attended by the dean of the college of Medicine and his vices-dean, Mrs Rahima Muhammad, Deputy Parliament, Assistant lecturer Layla Seif El-Din, Responsible for the Women Empowerment Unit at the university, Colonel Abdullah Hussein, Representative of the Community Police, Mrs Hana’ Ahmed, Responsible for the Women’s Unit in the Community Police, the Director of follow-up at the university, and a good elite of academic and non-academic staff
