A lecturer in the Department of Surgery Attends the Abu Dhabi Ophthalmology Conference

Abu Dhabi Government Hospitals held the Abu Dhabi Ophthalmology Conference for three days from 23-25 January 2020. Eight hundred specialists participated in the conference including thirteen workshops and ten surgical laboratories in which doctors were trained to enhance their efficiency in addition to eighty-three lectures delivered by forty-five lecturers` expertise in the field of eye diseases worldwide. It also included medical exhibitions with participation of about twenty companies specialized in ophthalmology and medical optics and hundreds of specialized doctors. On the part of the College of Medicine, the conference was attended by the teaching staff from the Department of Surgery, assistant Prof Dr Azzam AL. Ahmad. The course of this year (the fourth) focused on retinal diseases, infections, and pharmacological and surgical treatments, and all what is new of global research to improve and develop retinal treatments such as diabetic retinopathy, genetic retinal diseases, retinal detachment, and others.
