The Physiology Department held two virtual student seminars on Thursday11th March 2021. A group of second-stage students presented the seminar entitled “Respiratory Function” under the supervision of the Head of Department Assistant Prof Dr Afra’ M. Al-Amin. The seminar discussed the issue of the respiratory system in terms of its function, gas exchange across the follicular capillary membrane, and its neurochemical and neurological control.

After that, the other seminar entitled “Pancreas” was presented under the supervision of the department’s Lecturer Dr Rajaa A. Younis. It aims to introduce pancreatic physiology and its function. Then it was covered what happens in its functions when there is a tumour in it.

It should be noted that these seminars are held under the supervision and follow-up of the head of the department and in the presence of a rapporteur and all other teaching staff. This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for students of the mentioned stage.
