The Department of Physiology Sets up Two Virtual Students’ Seminars on the Topics of Liver and Pituitary Gland

The Department of Physiology has set up two virtual student seminars. On Tuesday 9th March 2021, a group of second-stage students presented the seminar entitled “Liver cancer and its function” under the supervision of the department’s lecturer Dr Rajaa A. Younis. The seminar discussed the issue of liver physiology and its function. While the seminar aimed to introduce the importance of studying the liver properly in order to know what happens in the case of disease.

On Wednesday 10th March 2021, another seminar entitled “The Pituitary Gland” was held under the supervision of the Assistant Prof. Dr Sajida S. Chalabi. The function of the pituitary gland, its importance, and its role in the regulation and control of a number of other glands were discussed in.

It should be noted that these seminars are held under the supervision and follow-up of the Head of the Department, Assistant Prof Dr Afra’ M. Al-Amin and in the presence of the rapporteur and the general teaching staff of the department. This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for students of the mentioned stage.
