Two Students Seminars for the Department of Medicine Discuss Common Poisonings and Psychological Symptoms of Internal Diseases

The Department of Medicine held two student seminars on Thursday, 25th February 2021 about the two topics of common poisoning and psychological symptoms of internal diseases.

The twenty-fifth seminar entitled “General and Specific Management of Common Poisoning” was presented by the students: Adnan Khalil, Shaima Muhammad, Ghufran Rafi, Ali Hawass, and Uday Abdel Salam and under the supervision of the department’s lecturer Dr Muhammad H. Al-Saati. The seminar dealt with educating students about common cases of poisoning, how to diagnose and treat them with presenting the most important anti-toxins used.

After that, the twenty-sixth seminar entitled “Psychiatric Manifestations of Systemic Illnesses” was presented by students: Firas Muhammad, Muhammad Ayad, Manar Abdul-Rahman, Najm Abed, and Heba Khalid and under the supervision of the department’s lecturer Dr Safia I. Chalabi. The seminar dealt with the psychological symptoms of internal diseases and ways of diagnosing, and dealing with them especially in an intensive care or otherwise.

This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for the sixth year students. Among the attendees were the Head of the Department, rapporteur and general teaching staff of the department as well as students of the aforementioned stage (exclusively medicine). For more, Click Here.
