Two virtual student seminars for the Department of Microbiology discussed congenital parasitic infections and the mechanisms of immunocompetent human organ transplantation on Tuesday and Wednesday 2-3 March 2021. The students: Younis Talal, Ali Hussein, Mustafa Nasrat, Yasmine Raad, Maryam Yasser, and Hala Mahmoud presented the seminar entitled “Congenial Parasitic Infections” The most common congenital parasitic infections that may be transmitted from an infected pregnant woman to her fetus as well as complications associated with them were discussed with a discussion of methods of prevention and treatment.

On the following day, the students: Omar A. Mustafa, Abd al-Rahman M. Muhammad, Ahmed A. Mal Allah, Abdullah F. Ali, Ahmed M. Muhammad, Bakr A. Hussein, and Ahmed N. Ahmed, presented the seminar entitled ” Organ Transplantation and Graft Rejection” The mechanisms of transferring human organs and the reasons for their rejection by the body’s immunity sometimes were discussed, and what are the strategies used to ensure successful transplantation of human organs. This scientific activity is part of the academic requirements for third-year students. Among the attendees were the head, rapporteur and general teaching staff of the department as well as the students of the aforementioned stage.
