Conference on Peaceful Coexistence in Nineveh Governorate
Under the auspices of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na’im Al-Aboudi, and under the supervision of the President of the University of Mosul, Professor Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi, a conference on the future of peaceful coexistence in Nineveh Governorate was held. The conference was organized in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (Giz) and the Paths of Peace Foundation on May 3, 2023. The event took place at the Scientific and Literary Forum Hall at the University of Mosul.
The College of Political Science participated with two research papers presented by Dr. Mahmoud Azou Hamdo, titled “Strengthening and Enhancing Social Roles in Peacebuilding in Sinjar,” and Dr. Khairallah Subhan with the paper titled “Paths to Enhancing Social Peace in Nineveh Governorate after Liberation: Recovery Strategy.”
The conference included the presentation of eight research papers discussing the current and future aspects of peaceful coexistence in Nineveh Governorate. These papers covered academic perspectives on economic, social, religious, media, security, and educational dimensions, which were important topics for discussion among the participants.
