Lecture titled “The Geopolitical Position of Mosul” by one of the faculty members
As part of the overall vision of the University of Mosul, which focuses on engaging with civil society and attempting to present a new narrative of Mosul, Dr. Ali Bashar Agwan, a faculty member at the College of Political Science, delivered a lecture titled “The Geopolitical Position of Mosul.” The lecture explored the historical significance of Mosul, its relationship with the Iraqi state, national identity, and the nature of its components. It also discussed its role in internal and regional perspectives, considering its geopolitical, political, and economic importance for various internal and external interests. The lecture took place as part of a series of lectures at the “Rawaf Baghdad” center, coinciding with the ninth anniversary of the occupation of Mosul on October 6, 2023.
