A scientific symposium under the slogan ‘Challenges of Rebuilding Post-Conflict Cities: The Experience of Nineveh Governorate’

According to the directives of the esteemed the Rector of Mosul University, Professor Dr. Kossay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmady, emphasizing the need to address the city’s and community’s issues in alignment with the university’s mission and scientific objectives, and under the auspices of Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Al-Qassar, in collaboration with the Iraqi Political Science Association / Nineveh Branch, and under the slogan: “Challenges of Rebuilding Post-Conflict Cities: The Experience of Nineveh Governorate,” a scientific symposium was held.

The symposium took place in the discussion hall of the College of Political Science on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. It featured lectures by:

– Dr. Mohammed Iqbal Al-Saidly, Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Nineveh Reconstruction Committee
– Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin, Assistant Dean for Administrative and Financial Affairs

The symposium saw active participation and discussions about the challenges faced by Nineveh in the post-liberation phase, highlighting the necessity for Mosul University to present its vision in addressing obstacles and providing proposals for policy-making to meet the city’s needs. The symposium was attended by several professors, researchers, postgraduate students, and faculty members. The college plans to hold new meetings and dialogues with decision-makers to further the college’s mission and objectives.
