The administrative assistant of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul served as a committee member for the defense of a master’s thesis at the University of Tikrit on the topic of alternative media and its impact on shaping political awareness among Iraqi university students
The thesis, presented by student Ahmed Amer Mohsen, was discussed on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the College of Political Science at the University of Tikrit. The defense committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Murtadha Ahmed Khodr (University of Tikrit), with the administrative assistant of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Yassin, among the other members of the committee.
The study concluded that alternative media sites play a significant and central role in shaping political awareness among Iraqi university students, and that students prefer using social media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter, and others) to obtain information about political changes and events.
Following the discussion, the committee’s decision to accept the thesis and award the master’s degree to the student was announced. After the thesis was approved, a letter of thanks and appreciation was sent to the administrative assistant by the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Tikrit in recognition of the scientific efforts in ensuring the success of the defense and its completion in a scientifically and objectively sound manner. In turn, the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul praised these substantial scientific efforts and those of all the faculty members, wishing everyone continued success and excellence in the realm of science and creativity, God willing.
