The Impact of Academic Studies in Political Science

Dr. Ali Bashar Bakr, a lecturer in the International Relations Department at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, recently shared an insightful post on his personal page about the influence of academic study in the field of political science in refining talent with professionalism and expertise. Given the significance of his article, we are proud to republish it below (with slight modifications) to share its valuable insights with a broader audience.

Many friends reach out to me, expressing their desire to appear on television channels or work in research institutions to analyze policies, often with hopes of receiving financial compensation.

This interest in the field is excellent, and I am personally ready to help anyone with such aspirations, as I believe knowledge should be shared generously. However, my advice to them (and to anyone who wishes to enter this field) is to first visit the nearest college of political science and enroll in a program to hone their talent professionally and expertly. For example, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul is home to exceptional and highly skilled academics. I graduated from this college myself, and now, as a lecturer here, I have numerous research activities and am committed to developing the skills of all those who enroll.

So, there is a golden opportunity for anyone wanting to change their career path or specialization: enrolling in this college or a similar one, provided they have the determination and capacity to continue.

If you commit to this path and decide to work on enhancing your tools, striving to accumulate knowledge, the college will open vast horizons for you. The college places you on a path that could lead you to a level far greater than you might expect! Therefore, your journey here depends on your dedication, commitment, and focus, both before and after enrollment. Studying in this field enables you to view the world from diverse perspectives, with the primary focus being your ambition, dedication, and commitment.

I sincerely invite everyone interested in advancing their skills and talents, particularly in research, media, politics, and academia, to enroll in the college’s programs, whether for day classes or even evening classes (especially for those over 25). We will be there to support and assist every step of the way for those wishing to advance in this field.

This is an invitation to seize the opportunity and enroll, to begin a new journey with promising financial, political, cultural, scientific, and social horizons. And may success come from God.
