A Master’s Thesis at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Examines the Strategic Analysis of Iraq’s Role in Regional and International Environments

A master’s thesis at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, explored the topic of *Strategic Analysis of Iraq’s Role in Regional and International Environments: A Comparative Study with the German and Japanese Experiences*. This thesis was presented by student *Demen Luqman Ahmed Musa* on Thursday, 7 November 2024.

The thesis aimed to focus on the strategic analysis required to activate Iraq’s regional and international role, utilizing opportunities, natural resources, and expertise to help Iraq confront challenges. It proposed leveraging, developing, and modernizing Iraq’s assets, enhancing social cohesion, and strengthening national unity and interests to formulate an ideal strategy unique to Iraq.

The research concluded that strengthening Iraq internally is the foundation for external engagement. It emphasized that utilizing Iraq’s capacities and capabilities can address imbalances, seize emerging opportunities, and foster a country with an impactful and influential internal and external strategy.

The examination committee consisted of Professor Dr. Lubna Khamis Mahdi (Chair), Assistant Professor Dr. Tareq Mohammed Tayeb Tahir (Member), Assistant Professor Dr. Younis Muayyad Younis (Member), and Professor Dr. Hazem Hamid Musa (Member and Supervisor).

The thesis discussion was attended by the university president, Professor Dr. Qusay Kamal Al-Din Al-Ahmadi; the Academic Vice President, Professor Dr. Munir Salem Taha; the Dean of the College of Archaeology, Professor Dr. Yasmin Abdul Karim Mohammed Ali; the Director of the Graduate Studies Department; as well as members of the college council and several faculty members.

Following the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included the acceptance of the thesis, pending necessary revisions, and awarded the student the Master’s degree.
