The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, Continues Implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security

The Women’s Affairs Committee at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, continues the implementation of the College’s Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security for the year 2025 through organizing a course entitled: “The Importance of Political Participation in Iraq in General.”

On Tuesday, 4 February 2025, two lectures were delivered, discussing the topics of “Barriers to Women’s Participation in Political Work: Iraq as a Model” and “Empowering Women in the Process of Political Decision-Making,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Raghad Nizar Said and Assistant Lecturer Basma Mohammed Nadhir.

The course aims to raise awareness about the challenges faced by women in the political field and explore effective ways to empower women to enhance their active participation in decision-making processes. It also seeks to build capacities through the analysis of women’s political experiences in Iraq and around the world, providing a platform for dialogue and the exchange of ideas between academics and students on issues related to women, peace, and security.

The event is held under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Waheed Mahmoud Al-Ibrahimi, supervised by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Dhahir, and in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit.
