A Master’s Thesis at the College of Political Science University of Mosul Discusses Technological Power and Its Impact on Geo-Space Competition After 2001

In the presence of Iraqi Member of Parliament Saeb Khadr Naif and the Dean of the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Assistant Professor Dr Tariq Mohammed Tayeb Zahir the college held a discussion of a master’s thesis titled Technological Power and Its Impact on Geo-Space Competition After 2001 Russia and the United States as a Model The thesis was presented by the student Nalin Khadr Naif on Monday 17 March 2025.

The thesis consisted of three chapters
The first chapter Technological Power and Geo-Space Competition A Theoretical Conceptual Framework
The second chapter Geo-Space Competition Between Russia and the United States After 2001
The third chapter Motivations and Trajectories of the Russian-American Geo-Space Competition

The study concluded that space technology has become a crucial strategic tool and has grown increasingly complex after 2001 as the competition between the Russian Federation and the United States has taken a more intense and escalating direction where space developments have become an integral part of security strategies within the framework of international interactions competition conflicts and wars

The discussion committee consisted of

Assistant Professor Dr Mohammed Maysar Fathi Member and Supervisor

The discussion session was attended by the college’s scientific and administrative assistants Assistant Professor Dr Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri and Assistant Professor Dr Ali Hussein Yassin along with several faculty members and postgraduate students

Following the discussion the committee’s decision was read stating the acceptance of the thesis with necessary modifications and granting the student a master’s degree.
