College of Political Science at the University of Mosul Participates in the Tenth Round Meeting of the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development on the Role of the Union Council in Achieving Balance

Under the patronage of the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul participated in the activities of the tenth-round meeting organized by the European Foundation for Dialogue and Development, entitled: “The Union Council and its Role in Achieving Balance between Federal Authorities and the Authorities of the Regions and Governorates Not Incorporated into a Region.” The event took place on Tuesday, 8 April 2025.
The college was represented by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, along with two faculty members from the Department of International Relations: Dr. Ali Bashar Bakr (Lecturer) and Mr. Maithir Faris Al-Jarba (Assistant Lecturer).
The meeting was chaired by the Governor of Nineveh, Legal Expert Mr. Abdulqader Al-Dakhil, and was attended by a distinguished group of officials, academics, a delegation from the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and the deans of the Colleges of Law and Political Science from universities across the governorate.
The participants discussed the importance of the aforementioned council as one of the anticipated constitutional bodies and its role in achieving balance between the federal authorities and those of the regions and governorates, in a manner that ensures the unity of the state and the active participation of all components in national decision-making.
The college’s participation falls within the framework of the administration’s efforts to enhance the academic role in supporting national dialogue initiatives and promoting the values of constitutional balance and the desired good governance.
