Two faculty members from the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul participated in a scientific conference at Al-Nahrain University on “Iraq in 2050.”

The College of Political Science at Al-Nahrain University held its 8th Annual Scientific Conference, titled “Iraq 2050,” on Sunday, 20 April 2025.
Dozens of researchers and academics from various universities took part in the conference. Representing the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul, Professor Dr. Salem Matar Abdullah from the Department of International Relations participated with his research titled “Iraqi-Arab Relations: Challenges of Regional Influence and Balance in Foreign Policy.”
Also participating was Lecturer Saja Fattah Zidan from the Department of Public Policy, who presented her research titled “Enhancing Civic Engagement and Promoting Transparency in Government Institutions: Effective Strategies and Sustainable Mechanisms for Good Governance.”
The conference addressed topics such as Iraq’s foreign policy, its strategy to strengthen relations with neighboring countries, sustainable economic development, and efforts to diversify income sources and reduce dependence on oil.
The main goal of the conference was to anticipate the future and develop shared visions for the challenges and opportunities Iraq will face in the coming years.
