A Master’s Thesis at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul Discusses American Strategic Thought and Its Impact on Foreign Policy in Managing International Conflicts

A master’s thesis titled “American Strategic Thought and Its Impact on Foreign Policy in Managing International Conflicts: The Period of President Joe Biden” was discussed at the College of Political Science, University of Mosul, on Thursday, 24 April 2025. The thesis was submitted by the student Yusra Ali Arab.
The thesis aimed to analyze the foundations of American strategic thought during the term of the mentioned president, and to clarify the extent of its influence in shaping the foreign policy of the United States, particularly in managing international conflicts. The thesis also sought to uncover the mechanisms and tools used by the American administration in dealing with hotspots and conflicts in various parts of the world, with a focus on the diplomatic, economic, and military methods adopted to achieve its strategic goals.
The examination committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Mohammed Yas Khudair (Chair), Prof. Dr. Salim Matar Abdullah (Member), Asst. Prof. Jasim Mohammed Taha (Member), and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Maysar Fathi (Member and Supervisor).
The session was attended in part by the Dean of the College, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sayyib Khalid Jassim Al-Taie, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, a number of faculty members, and some postgraduate students.
Following the discussion, the committee’s decision was read, which included the acceptance of the thesis with the necessary amendments and the awarding of a Master’s degree to the student.
