Second Virtual Meeting Between the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul and the Middle East Studies Institute at King’s College London to Explore Prospects for Academic Cooperation in Preparation for a Joint International Conference

On Thursday, 8 May 2025, the College of Political Science at the University of Mosul held its second significant virtual meeting with the Middle East Studies Institute at King’s College London. The meeting aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and broaden the scope of scientific partnership between the two institutions by discussing potential avenues for developing research and academic cooperation.

The two parties agreed to organize a joint international conference in the near future, in addition to launching a collaborative international research initiative. This project is intended to enhance scholarly exchange and contribute to the production of knowledge in the fields of peacebuilding and conflict studies.

This meeting falls within the ongoing efforts of the University and the College to expand their international partnerships and engage with global academic and research institutions. These efforts are part of a strategic vision to advance scientific research and elevate the standards of academic performance.

The College of Political Science was represented by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Khairallah Subhan Al-Jubouri, accompanied by Lecturer Ammar Ahmed Rasheed, Assistant Lecturer Nawar Basel Mahfouz, and Assistant Lecturer Mohammed Saif Al-Din. The Middle East Studies Institute was represented by its Director, Professor Jonathan Hill, Dr. Eleanor Salt, and Dr. Amjed Rasheed.
